How Consumers Form Attitudes

When consumers have formed attitudes toward an issue, they generally look for information that agrees with their beliefs. This is especially true with their perception of biotechnology-enhanced foods. Those beliefs remained stable even in the presence of persuasive arguments. Giving factual or scientific statements to consumers isn’t enough to allay their concerns.
